FAQs

These aren't actually frequently asked. They are just the questions that we have answers for. If you have any other questions or need clarification, just ask.

Do you allow pick-ups?

No. We deliver, set up, pack down and take away.

Can adults use the inflatable?

Depends on the castle - see the individual page. Sometimes for the smaller castles, it will take a mum looking after a toddler, but won't cope with a group of teenagers running from wall to wall.

What happens if it is a windy day?

For very high wind days we absolutely reserve the right to cancel the booking. We don't do 'she'll be right'. Sometimes sheltered spots allow us to put up, but it is our call. If the weather forecast is looking too windy, we will usually be in touch the day before to make a plan as to what to do.

How long does it take to set up a bouncy castle

Much depends on access. Say 10 mins to carry equipment into back garden. About 5 mins to get the blower hooked up etc. About 2 mins to inflate and then 2 mins to peg down and check all is well. So maybe 20mins. We've certainly done in it in much less than 10 mins and also had to take nearer to 45 mins!

What about steps or stairs?

With the smaller to medium size units, we can usually handle a normal step but cannot cope with more than about 2 or 3 steps. Some units cannot go over steps at all. If you know that we'll need to go up and down decking, for example, please let us know and we can either do a site visit or assess the situation from a photo. If there are fewer than 5 steps there needs to be someone on site that can help manoeuvre the jumping castle. If there are more steps, please let us know when making your booking....as the JUMBO castles cannot do stairs!

How much flat area do we need?

As our bouncy castles and combo designs vary in size, please check the minimum required area next to the attraction you are interested in. When pacing out a space, remember to look up and check for overhanging trees. Some inflatables, like the slides and obstacle courses, require anchorage ropes going out well beyond the sides of the unit. Remember too, that we need an extra metre behind (usually) to place the blower and people need space in front to get in & out. If space is a problem, we can often do a site visit to talk through options. Squeezing an inflatable in against walls/ceilings is never an option.

How high is the inflatable?

The bouncy castle inflatables are between approximately 2.4m to 8.0 metres high depending on the style of the inflatable. If height is a problem please contact us. Outside this is usually not a problem, but do look up for overhanging tree branches/telephone lines etc.

Can the inflatable be in contact with walls or trees or ceiling?

No the inflatable can suffer abrasion damage if it is in direct contact with branches or walls. When we deliver the inflatable we will place it so as to avoid contact with these damaging surfaces.

How much access space is needed to get an inflatable in?

Approx 1 metre (3 feet) for most medium bouncy castles. Please ensure that water heaters or air conditioning units are not blocking the access. Larger units (slides etc) are much wider. - often 1.2m. If access is potentially a problem, please call us. For some units we need to drive right to the point of setup (e.g. climbing wall and safari are too heavy to be man handled anywhere)

How many children can use the inflatable at the one time?

Much depends on which inflatable you are asking about. Each unit on the website should have a number and age range on its page.(These ages are approximate, as it is in fact the weight that counts!). Remember safety is paramount and it is always better to have too few on, than too many.

What happens if we damage the inflatable?

If the damage is considered by us to be malicious then you will be liable to pay for all repairs and transport costs associated with having the inflatable repaired. If adults use a bouncy castle that is not an adult castle, and it is damaged, then the above will also apply as these inflatables are specifically available for children only.

What else should I be aware of?

Please keep streamers, poppers, silly string etc away from any inflatable as they stain the vinyl !! Face Paint also stains the vinyl. Please make sure all children’s faces are completely dry prior to them jumping. You may also want to check that when children perspire the paint starts to run. Any streamer etc damage found on the inflatable at time of pick up or when we clean the inflatable over the following seven (7) days will result in a cleaning charge. (This may be quite large!)

How long can I have the inflatable for?

Usually a 4 hour or daily (8 hour) hire. Bookings within Summer, in a backyard, can go till dusk. During the winter months, obviously the days get shorter, and it gets darker much earlier, so bookings should be completed 1 hour after sunset at the very latest. Sorry, but we, generally, do not do overnight bookings, except at Christmas or by prior arrangement.

How is payment made and when?

When a booking is confirmed, we send through an invoice. This has details of how to pay. Most payments are made by bank transfer. Please note that in most cases payment is due before we come out, especially for new customers. We have stopped taking cash-on-the-day.

How about if I want to cancel?

If you cancel for bad weather, then provided you tell us in plenty of time, there is no cost to you, you get a full refund. If we have already started on our way to you (or staff are on their way to the warehouse), we reserve the right to cover staff and travel expenses. If we have started to set up before cancelling then the full amount is payable. Often the decision can be made on the morning of hire. If the forecasts are looking bad, we'll be in touch during the week to talk through 'when to make a call'.

What happens if it rains on the day?

It depends on the unit and time of year and amount of rain. Some of the interactives cannot be used in the rain at all (e.g. mechanical bull). Some bouncy castles (e.g. Safari) are way too large for us to put out to dry the next day. Other units are more rain/shower tolerant. Our advice is to ALWAYS have a back up plan. If it rains during your event DO NOT deflate the unit. The blower is double insulated and protected by an rcd. It is much better to leave the unit inflated.

Is the set up time included in the hire time?

No. For example—if your booking starts at 1pm, we will have the inflatable ready before that time. If you have booked it until 5pm then we'll arrive after that time to pick up. We do ask that you provide clear access to the driveway of your home as the inflatables are sometimes difficult to manoeuvre.

What surface can inflatables go on?

Many surfaces including grass, concrete, paving, asphalt etc. Not mud or gravel or grit surfaces. As long as we know what surface before we come out all will be well. Note that some units, like the dunk tank and the water slides cannot go on hard surfaces. If in doubt call us.
